Dr. Johanna Wesnigk, the managing director of EMPA, has since 1987 worked on promoting environmental, marine, and maritime research as scientist, coordinator and project manager. She has further facilitated the use of scientific results by stakeholders from environmental agencies, industry and NGOs, mostly in an international context.

 

In 2005 she started her agency, the Environmental & Marine Project Management Agency EMPA, which for its clients performs the unloved EU-specific tasks of proposal writing and project management e.g. “Relevance to Objectives & EU Added Value, Management & Feasibility, Gender Action Plan, Reporting, Plans for Dissemination, Exploitation & Use, Data Policies, etc.” and further duties.
